Bois Doré, the new woody sensuality of Van Cleef & Arpels
Perfumery is a particularly vast field which brings together a good number of brands from very different universes. Thus, if most of the players in current perfumery are initially big fashion houses, some of them come from other horizons. Van Cleef & Arpels , for example, was initially a great jeweler present since 1906 on the Place Vendôme.
Today, the brand has managed to retain its prestige and elegance of yesteryear, but transposes them into a new world: that of perfumery. Van Cleef & Arpels is once again rewarding us with a new creation. Focus on Bois Doré, a fragrance from the Extraordinary Collection of Van Cleef & Arpels.
The perfumes of the Extraordinary Collection of Van Cleef & Arpels
Bois Doré is far from being an isolated fragrance. It is part of an assortment of particularly refined fragrances and complements the Extraordinary Collection of Van Cleef & Arpels. This blend of scented essences is an exceptional and quality commitment. The Extraordinary Collection fits perfectly into the world of Van Cleef & Arpels. It contains an assembly of transparent and olfactory sets that transcend femininity. Like Haute Joaillerie, Van Cleef & Arpels Haute Parfumerie delivers the best of its know-how to us. This is a series of perfumes featuring noble raw materials that are emblematic of perfumery.
Each of them highlights an ingredient or an olfactory family and places them in their most beautiful aspect. Each raw material is worked here in its purest and most successful form. However, the Extraordinary Collection by Van Cleef & Arpels is not lacking in fantasy either. The result is juices with incredible accuracy, filled with emotion and poetry.
Bois Doré, a carnal fragrance in a refined bottle
Bois Doré is a fragrance delivered to us in the emblematic bottle of the entire Extraordinary Collection of Van Cleef & Arpels. Clean in shape, it adopts a rectangular and vertical silhouette. Cut from heavy glass, Bois Doré immediately exudes a feeling of refinement. Its solid base is perfectly anchored in the ground.
The whole is decorated with a black and white embossed label as well as the initials of Van Cleef & Arpels engraved on its wall.
The Bois Doré recipe was developed by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin. It is a woody and oriental juice highlighting two main ingredients of perfumery: cedar and tonka bean. The cedar is dry and mellow. The tonka bean, on the other hand, is rounder. It is like a hint of gold that illuminates this perfume.
The tonka bean is a fruit made from Brazilian teak which only reveals its aromatic power when it is perfectly ripe and begins to resemble a blackened almond. Bois Doré also gains in impertinence thanks to the presence of black pepper. Mineral notes give it a rougher feel similar to that of a hot stone. The vanilla illuminates the whole and the white musks only increase the tenderness of this perfume.
